APPARTAMENTO LAGO COMO - BY LAGO

An apartment in the city centre of Como changes its skin

Check out this new designer apartment located in the historic city centre of Como. This luxurious space has been fully renovated by LAGO and in collaboration with the respected interior designer Andrea Castrignano.

Castrignano is the creator and presenter of the Italian television home makeover programme “Cambio Casa, Cambio Vita”, which featured the apartment in Como in an episode aired in September 2019.

This unique project involved completely redeveloping a 140m2 space in Como in order to create two separate apartments, along with a few communal areas.

Being a premium brand who can fully customise your home furniture, LAGO was able to re-design one of the two apartments whilst deploying three of the distinctive features of its design style – modularity, lightness and suspension.

As part of its efforts to refresh the 50m2 space in the first apartment, LAGO chose to stay away from all visual extremes in its choice of furniture, instead focusing on bringing a light feel to the space and conveying an elegant, modern and simple design philosophy.

Designing an open-plan bedroom, bathroom, living-room and kitchen has given this whole home a lively burst of personality, where light and colour are used to great effect.

To make sure that the 36e8 kitchen would not overpower the living room, it was made to the colour of the walls, helping the kitchen to blend in and integrate with the rest of the space.

Furthermore, several iconic pieces from the LAGO ‘Air Collection’ were added to the living-room in order to give a light, airy feel to the space. These included an Air Sofa, Bookcase, Table and Side Table which had details of transparent glass which were used to elevate the vision of a unique, innovative lifestyle.

On the other side of this apartment is the bedroom, where ones eye is immediately drawn to the fibreglass wall with wallpaper in shades of blue. This amazing wallpaper design complements the materials and colours of the kitchen, creating a sense of dialogue between the two sides of the flat. Also in the bedroom is an ‘Air Bed’ which has tempered glass legs; these help to heighten the light feel. Lastly, a N.O.W wardrobe was added, also in a glass (but coloured) which brings a sense of absolute calmness to the bedroom. These details all together create a modern and creative space.

The lightweight and transparent feature of LAGO furniture was also used in the bathroom, where the Depth Basin combines the warmth of wildwood with the playful surprise of the transparent glass bottom.
